Someone dumped a pile of fake AI reviews on my Google profile. How do I get them off?

Report each one from your Google Business Profile as fake or spam, keep a dated record with screenshots, and reply to each publicly in one calm, factual line: you have no record of this customer and have asked Google to review it. Do not argue, and never answer with fake positive reviews of your own.

Google’s policies prohibit fake engagement, and a sudden cluster of reviews from accounts with no history is exactly what its review team looks for. Use the report option on each review in your Business Profile and pick the reason that fits — usually spam or fake. Reporting them one at a time is tedious but it is how the process works.

Keep a record as you go: a screenshot of each review, the date it appeared and the date you reported it. If the reviews stay up, that record is what makes an appeal or escalation credible. Patterns — the same phrasing, the same posting window — are worth noting.

Reply publicly to each one, briefly. Something like: "We have no record of a customer by this name or this job, and we have asked Google to review this." Future customers read your replies more closely than the reviews themselves, and calm beats defensive every time.

The one thing never to do is fight fire with fire. Buying or writing fake positive reviews to bury the bad ones breaks the same rules, and Canada’s Competition Bureau treats fake reviews as deceptive marketing. The slow, honest route is the only one that holds up.
