What to Never Paste Into AI
Know exactly what's safe to share and what to keep out, so you can use AI confidently without second-guessing every message.
Good news: 95% of what you'd paste is totally fine. Only a short list stays out.
Keep OUT (swap for a placeholder):
- Credit card, SIN, bank/account numbers
- Passwords and login codes
- Someone else's private info (a client's home address, medical notes)
- Signed confidential contracts with names/prices
In practice
You want AI's help with a real message, but it names a customer and lists a dollar amount. Swap the name for [CUSTOMER] and keep the rest, then ask away, private bits masked, situation intact.
The rest is free too — it just needs a seat.
